About Juliet
It was in September 2017, that Juliet Young-Morrison founded The Joy Element for Women and Experiential Learning (JEWEL) Center. This decision was the culmination of twenty-five years in the field of education, during which Juliet saw the need for a space for authentic dialogue and necessary respite—especially for women leaders.
“The toll of leadership can weigh heavily on a woman’s mind, body and spirit as she wears the full metal jacket that she is dying to take off in a safe space.” Knowing this through personal and professional experience, Juliet listened to her inner voice, and the encouragement of peers and colleagues, and JEWEL was born.
Juliet has been a Principal with the New York City Department of Education, a Human Relations Facilitator, and a teacher. During her tenure as New York City Principal, she led her school to double in performance. She enacted positive change in the community as Panel Moderator for “Women in Power” — a series on women shaping the national and international landscape in diverse fields. She was a Panelist for “Addressing Mental Health in the Community” and she participated in the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Women Initiative.
The JEWEL Center fuses her passion for education, people and leadership into one unique space.
Juliet holds a BA from CUNY Queens College in Education, a BS in TESOL from College of New Rochelle, an SAS-CUNY Baruch College and a MCSW- Fordham University. She is affiliated with NYC Office of Leadership Alumni Association, National Association of Social Workers, Momentum Education and The Bronxville Women’s Center.
